Famaj in the context of feminist art

After the 18th century, women began to struggle more in politics, economy, politics and art, in short, in all the dynamics of life, in order to make themselves and their thoughts visible, than in past centuries. The rights acquired in this struggle were not considered sufficient by feminists in the 20th century, and feminists who believed that their rights were not sufficient entered into a more radical process to achieve equality than the previous feminist movement in the 1960s. The feminist art movement emerged against the unequal representation of women in artistic media and the male-dominated representations produced about women.In the 1970s, with the efforts of various art historians, artists and art critics, women artists and their works began to take place in art institutions and women artists who were excluded from art history began to be visible. In the 20th century, art production went beyond the classical understanding and the limits of art disappeared. In addition to classical forms of expression, the transfer of objects produced outside of art to the field of art has diversified the production process in art. In addition to traditional narrative methods, production processes dominated by concept inquiries rather than formal features have made themselves visible. This process has also affected the artistic creation of women. With the diversity in the production process and the blurring of the boundaries between art/life, women have moved towards the process of re-expressing famaj works, which are traditionally seen as women's work, in a contemporary language. This thesis is titled "Famaj in the Context of Feminist Art", which aims to address and examine the performance of women's products and labor in art production. However, it also aims to treat women's identity in a creative context throughout history, decoration techniques in private areas within the home, etc. as a strategy. It treats these productions of women, especially those made with the collage technique in contemporary art, with a feminist approach and classifies fabric collage as "famaj" and tries to embody the works and artists produced in this context with examples.
