Abstract (EN)

Motivation is important in social sciences as in many other educational sciences, too. All bad influences are increasing and students are in the middle of a constantly changing and getting more and more complicated social and economical life. As all those negative influences are increasing rapidly good motivation is nowadays even more necessary and needed. Good teacher-student relationships and teachers' autonomous support are important for students' success in studies. Autonomous support gives good motivation and helps students internalizing influences and expectations coming from the outside. The Turkish education system has many problems and students' success in examinations either nationally or overseas are not very satisfying. Being able to think out of the angle of science or science phenomenons, science and technology are very important. Especially, in these two areas students aren't as successfull as necessary. Science and technology are very important in modern life style and that's why success in science and technology will increase success in the education system in general, too. To be able to reach this success, teachers' autonomous student support and motivation are as important as the education system in general. Motivation in educational success, motivation theories, autonomous theory and autonomous support given by teachers are examined in this research. Research proofs that among middle-school students the autonoumous support of the science and technology teacher has influence on the students' success. Research has been done by collecting surveys and surveys have been analized by a SPSS program. It has been observed that teachers autonomous attitude towards students is middle-level controlling. According to research and based on statistics if autonomous attitude is added on middle- or high-level controlling attitude or a weak relationship between teacher and student. It has no connection to students success.
