Ferit Aydin's criticism on Naksibendy

This study, which was prepared on the Naqshbandi Criticism of Ferit Aydın, one of the contemporary writers, consists of an introduction and three parts. The subject is Ferit Aydın's criticisms of Naqshbandi in particular and Sufism in general. In the introduction, the informations about the purpose and importance of the subject, the method and sources of the research, the relevant literature and the contribution of the research to Sufi studies are given. At the same time, a general evaluation was made about Sufism, Sect and Naqshbandi. Information about the historical course of Naqshbandi in Turkey has been given. In the first part, the political and socio-economic, scientific and cultural environment in which Ferit Aydın lived is mentioned. Information is given about his life and scientific personality, as well as the articles and books he wrote about Sufism and different subjects. In the second part, the criticisms against Naqshbandi in Turkey were tried to be revealed. In addition, Ferit Aydın's thoughts and criticisms about Sufi concepts and interpretations in Naqshbandiism are mentioned. In the third part, Aydın's criticisms on the structuring, rituals and practices of Naqshbandi were discussed. In addition, the criticisms and evaluations of the Naqshbandi sects towards their political approaches and their relations with the society are also discussed. As a result, it has been determined that the work written by Ferit Aydın and the criticisms he put forward in his work are not at the level of scientific competence. Attention has been drawn to the inconsistency of the conceptual background he used in his criticisms and generalizations over selected examples from the past and present.
