Abstract (EN)

In this study carried out under field conditions, three different mixing ratios of vetch + barley green manure plants were incorporated into the soil in two different flowering periods (10% and 90%). Plant yield (biomass), nitrogen mineralization rate and amount, soil respiration, dehydrogenase activity (DHG), in the soil samples taken from a depth of 0-20 cm for a total of seven periods after incorporating into the soil were determined. Microbial activity and mineral nitrogen concentrations increased between 14-77% (average 35%) for 10% flowering plots, while this level was between 9-117% (average 55%) in 90% flowering plots. The treatment that affected the dependent variables the most compared to the control plots was the F60A40 with an average increase of 36% for both flowering periods. It was determined that the values of, soil respiration, DHG and nitrogen mineralization rate and amount increased and the continuity of this increase was provided due to the barley-non-legume-plant applied as a mixture with the vetch-legume-plant as well as the increasing in its ratio of the green plant mixture. The highest microbial activity values were obtained from plots with both 90% flowering and plant mixture. In the light of all the findings obtained from the study, it can be recommended that vetch+barley green manure mixture, as a rate of 60% +40% can be incorporated into the soil during their 90% flowering period in order to stimulate the microbial activity in the agricultural soils under the Mediterranean climate.
