Medical approach to women experienced physical v: An evaluation in the context of female patient rights

Özet (EN)

Violence against women is one of the most widespread human rights and public health problems in the world today. According to United Nations Declaration to the Elimination of Violence Against Women, 1993, the term ?violence against women? means any act of Gender-based violence that results in, or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological hurt more suffering to women, including threats of such acts, coercion or arbitrarydeprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public or in private life. This study presents the results of a research conducted to determine, arrangements and attitudes in medical establishments where battered women consulted also to determine their expectations about these arrangements and attitudes. This study was realized in eight cities? women shelters. Interviewed by 51 women using half planned face to face interview techniques and 48 interview evaluated out of 51. Women and health care providers must take courses about Gender Roles, Violence against Women, Human Rights of Women and Female Patients? Rights and also they have to increase awareness and sensitivity about these subjects especially violence against women. As a result of this study, governments recognize these subjects and establish positive discrimination for women?s? in health care services, and all of these must be governments policy.
