Abstract (EN)
On aerial photography duties, which aim for photogrammetric map production, flight strips are determined while flight planning of the region. For connectingthese strips, control points those coordinates known previously, need to be seenin each two strips. In order that control points can be seen on each strips, it isnecessary to take aerial photo of the same region twice; in other words sidelapof the strip is neeeded. Usually sidelap has been planning with a nominalaverage of 30% in all over the world and also in Turkey for many years. Whensidelap is less than needed sometimes it is impossible to see control points on theaerial photos which must be on each two strips and it causes gaps due toimpossibility of connecting these strips. Gaps in the aerial photogrammetry areexpensive to fill in.due to extra flight and much extra office work. When sidelapis greater than needed, it causes additional cost and time for producers becauseof the area. photographed unnecessarily In order to achieve a satisfactory resulton a photographic sortie, the use of certain navigational aids can be of greatvalue in positioning the aircraft. Nowadays as new technologies are developing, planes have autopilot and sensitive GPS navigation systems; aerial photographycan be made more accurately. And also GPS surveys give an oppurtinuty ofputting control points to whereever you want due to no need to triangulation asin the conventional geodetic survey. Based on this information, the optimisationof the sidelap will be evaluated in this study.
