Abstract (EN)

Nowadays, energy demand is growing with the increase in industrialization and advancement of technology. Fossil sources are used to meet increasing energy demand, which leads to reduction in fossil reserves and causes environmental problems. Scientists are working on alternative energy sources that can be replace fossil sources in terms of sustainability. In this context, solar energy and biogas production technology are known as renewable and sustainable energy sources. Photovoltaic (PV) technology which converts solar energy to electrical energy, is a very attractive technology due to its applicability and storage capacity. On the other hand, biogas obtained by anaerobic fermentation of different biomass sources can be used in heating and electricity generation with indirect and direct usage methods. In recent years, hybrid systems like, biogas system supported by solar energy have widely studied. In this study, biogas system supported by solar energy was designed in animal farm in Eleşkirt district of Ağrı province. For the hybrid system design, parameters such as aniwal waste potential required for biogas production, location and area of the roof for photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) panel installation and annual meteorological data of the region were taken into consideration. As a result of obtained data and calculations, solar energy assisted hybrid biogas system with 282.3 m3/day biogas production and photovoltaic-thermal (PVT) panel with an installed capacity of approximately 661 kWh was designed.
