Comparasion of the preschool education of France and Turkey

The purpose of education is to provide one with new skills and to enable him to conduct right, as well as to bring up individuals who are self-sufficient, beneficial to the society, healthy, democratic and sensitive to the environment. Societies can only progress by education. Take whichever country into consideration, the ministry of education is the biggest organization in the whole state structure. While it is not possible to see at every district a health center, a hospital, a police station, a courthouse or a tax authority, etc, one can be sure that he will see at least a few preschool institutions or primary schools at every district.The first step of educational system is the preschool institutions. This is a time at which the seeds of a child?s behaviors are sown. Behaviors that are not gained at this stage can lead to various deficiencies or insufficiencies in a child?s further development.In this research, scanning has been used as the research model. Providing the readers with a brief of the historical progression of the educational systems of France and Turkey, this thesis has made use of the data and other accessible sources of information pertaining to the two countries? preschool systems under the ultimate management of their ministries of education together with the implementation thereof.Findings of this research have led to suggest that: the preschool education in our country be improved and provided widespread, particularly the final step of such education being the age of six preliminary classes be covered under the compulsory schooling, contributions by the local governmental authorities to the preschool education become a common practice, the physical properties of the classes at schools in Turkey be improved and especially basic standards be introduced relating to the size of the rooms and the organization of the educational materials, intermediary classes be formed in order to enable better transition from the preschool to the primary school, the stake of the contribution to the education made from the country budget be increased and particularly the contribution of the ministry to the preschool system be raised, more importance be attached to the participation of the families to the preschool educational system also by covering their participation within the program, special education tutors and supporting personnel be employed, the on-the-job training courses be lengthened and reinforced.Key Words: Education in comparison, educational system, preschool, communique, program.
