Abstract (EN)
Many parents in Turkey want their children to acquire a second language other than their own and make a lot of financial efforts to reach this goal. Born in France, children of immigrant parents have a special opportunity to become bilingual starting to speak the L1 at home and learning the L2 in school. They employ both languages in different ways, with different objectives, and in different domains, with different people. But acquiring L2 skills in writing and speaking may not come easily. Regarding writing in French, spelling changes still have a great importance in many areas, as evidenced by the studies of the researchers. Keywords: Education in France, Franco-Turkish immigrants, bilingualism, spelling.
