Examining the thinking need levels of fottball clup manager

This research was conducted to examine the thinking need levels of football club managers. Survey method was used to collect research data. 145 men's football club managers participated in the research. In the first part of the two-part survey form, "personal information form (gender, age, education level, total working time in management and position in the club)" was used to reach the demographic information of the participants, and in the second part, developed by Cacioppo and Petty (1984) and Gülgöz and Sadowski (1984). The Need For Cognition Scale, adapted into Turkish by 1995b), was used. According to the reliability analysis conducted on the answers given by the football club managers, the Chronbach Alpha coefficient, which shows the internal consistency of the scale, was found to be α = .785 and it was determined to have a high level of reliability. The survey was presented to participants as a Google form or written material. Arithmetic means, standard deviations and standard errors, minimum and maximum values of the data obtained from the answers given by the participants were calculated. The data obtained from the survey applied in the research were evaluated at 95% confidence interval and 0.05 significance level. As a result of the research, it was seen that sports managers aged 30 and under had a greater need to think than all categories between the ages of 31 and 49. When the thinking need levels of sports managers were examined according to their educational status, which is the other variable of the research, significant differences were found, and in the evaluation made to understand where the difference came from, it was seen that the thinking needs of university undergraduate graduates were higher than primary and high school graduates. When the results of the research were examined by taking into account the variable of working time in management, it was seen that the working year did not have any effect on the thinking needs of sports managers.
