The Determination of the level of behievement regarding the goals of public education centers in SAP (Southeastern Anatolia Project) region and the evaluation of their curriculums

mABSTRACTThis study was conducted to compare the opinions of administrators andteachers employed in the Puplic Education Centers in same provinces ofSouthearsten Anatolian Project ( namely Gaziantep, Kilis, Adıyaman andŞanlıurfa ) towards the evaluation of activities for the realization of theobjectives of the puplic education in the area. It was also aimed to evaluate thecurriula of puplic education adopted in the region.The population of the study consists of the full-time administrators andteachers of the Puplic Education Centers in the SAP region and questionnairetechnique was used to collect data needed.The questionnaire that was applied to the respondents consist of three partsand in the first part there are questions intended to identify the demograficcharacteristics of the subjects. The second part of the questionnaire includesquestions about the objectives of puplic education and there are questionsrelated with the Southeastern Anatolian Project. Percantage ratios werecalculated for both the demographic characteristics and opinions of the subjects.Furthermore, chi-square method was employed to find out whether there ismeaningful differences interms of the opinions stated by the subjects.The results of the study revealed that;1. The respondents believed that the Puplic Education Centers realizedthe national and local objectives of public education highly.2. The expectations of the subjects from the SAP in the economic,social and cultural areas were not Strang.3. The respondents agreed with the statement that the coordination andcollaboration between the Puplic Education Centers and various institutionshave been achieved satisfactorily.4. The respondents stated mat the Puplic Education Centers do notorganize educational programs and activities for the immigration in the area.
