The position of Ghazâlî's sûfî works in relation to his other works (According to his ideas in Munkiz)

Sufism has found value in the history of islamic thought with the Works of Gazâlî. With the help of Al-Ghazâlî the sufizm became widespread. Sufizm gained legitimacy with him. According to the philosopher's unterstanding of sufism, Sufi orders are the institutions that enable their bad attributes through the struggle, to cut off their relevance to these attributes and to turn to Allah altogether. It indicates that the sufi direction of Sufizm should be applied. Apart from one of the works he wrote i the field of Sufizm, he wrote all his other works during or after his retreat. The period he lived in was the period of political turmoil and conflicts of opiniom. Al-Ghâzal, is a thankful who lived in an environment under the threat of the Crusaders from the East and from the West, and performed important tasks. In his journey of truth, he studied Kalam, Philosophy, Batiniyya and Sufizm and chose Sufizm as a way of salvation. In most of his works, there are references to other works, different interpretations from previous works, changig ideas, political and there are social reasons of the period. He softened and neutralized the criticisms of Sufis and Sufis. While analyzing and explaining the issues he has dealt with, he has made comments that do not contradict the şer'i and zahirî provisions. He has published many Sufism works, especially the book of Ihyâü Ulûmid-din, which shapes the religious and cultural life of the Islamic World and contains the subjects of Sufism.
