Evaluation of the traditional embroidered products at the museum of Ülker Muncuk, at Gazi University, Faculty of Vocational Education and determination of their contribution to education

İt is obvious that as well as they are a safe guard of the culture preserved atthe languages of the products, they are also messangers for being a bridge betweenthe past and the present, perhaps for the expression of periods they belong to. Thefact that this cultural accumulation is used at schools and classes will help add newmosaics to cultural mosaic, besides improving creative thinking.The purpose of the study "Evaluation of the Traditional EmbroideredProducts at the Museum of Ülker Muncuk, at Gazi University, Faculty of VocationalEducation and Determination of their Contribution to Education"; is to determine theideas of the students över the museum and its contribution to education.This study is in the model of scanning. The sampling of the study consists of50 products present at the museum of Faculty of Vocational Education of GaziUniversity and 400 students at the 3rd and 401 grades of the faculty at the educationalyear of 2004-2005.The Formula of y=fxl00/n was used at the analysis of the data.At the findings of the knowledge form of the study, it was seen that themajority of 50 products consisted of Turkish works and came such works as Divalwork, count work, Suzeni, Rolling with thread breaking, Chinese needle, cordstitching next it was found that the products were mostly covered in the 20* century,they preserved their original conditions and clothe weaving and cotton yarn was usedat the embroidery. it was also determined that hand press stitching was applied atborder cleaning and the colours used were cream, golden, silver, dark olive. Leave,branch, circle, ribbon, human fûgures were used as decoration topics and Arabicwritings, motives were also used repetitively as composition features.5it was also found that 400 students taken into the content of the study were atthe ages of 22-23, that mostly students of embroidery departments benefûted from themuseum, most of them were aware of the museum but they thought it was notsuffûcient in terms of sources, that there were no audio-visual devices, thereorganized no courses, the environment of study was suitable, they reached at thechosen product easily, the labeling was adequate enough, that the they thought theproduct should be used at new designs and that they made some changes they chose.
