Cem worships in Gaziantep Alevi Cultural Associations Cemevi and Serçeşme Cemevi; edep-erkan, semah and sayings

Djems and rituals, which are accepted as the basic worship of Alevi-Bektashism, which is a mystical interpretation of Islam, bear the traces of Old Turkish beliefs until today. In this respect, Alevi-Bektashi belief is a common basin formed by Turkish Sufism and Sufi interpretations, which have managed to stay away from Arab influence. Accordingly, we will try to define Alevi-Bektashism within the limits of its own explanation and through the collective memory accepted by the Alevi-Bektashi society. In many studies conducted to date, we see that the Alevism-Bektashism belief is generally described as heterodoxy Islam. When the Alevism-Bektashism belief is evaluated, it can be located within the boundaries of the heterodoxy identity as it is different from the Sunni movements and sects that are accepted as religious identity and central authority. However, trying to read Alevism only through Sunnism will lead to a comparison. This comparison will come true through sectarian bigotry and far from scientific explanation. In our thesis, the aim of academic ethics and scientific qualification is intended. Alevi-Bektashi belief shows ritual differences in some practices from region to region. These differences have led to various riches in the collective memory of Alevism; With the phrase "The road is one, the continuation is one thousand and one". In our research, it is aimed to observe the religious life of the aspirant communities residing in Gaziantep and belonging to different clans, and with the data obtained from the field, it is aimed to examine the cem worship, the performance of twelve services, the sayings and semahs recited in the cem worship and to give a comparative explanation and to bring the belief values of the Alevi-Bektashi community to the academic literature.
