The role of wrap culture in Gaziantep cuisine

The effects of cultural habits and geography on food and beverage culture cannot be denied. High bread consumption across the country is equally high in Gaziantep province. Consuming food with bread, which is a traditional habit, has become a necessity over time. In this research, interviews and surveys were made with people residing in Gaziantep city center, Şehitkâmil and Şahinbey districts on perception of wrap and the obtained from these surveys and interviews were analyzed. Since there is no study in gastronomy literature about perception of eating by wrapping food in bread, this topic has been preferred. With this study, the presence of a wrap culture in Gaziantep cuisine culture was examined. Contribution was made to the literature regarding Gaziantep's perception of wrap.
