Abstract (EN)

Traditional works are the work branches for the aim of earning money from handicrafts being forms of reflection of a society?s understanding of aesthetics, naive thinking and cultural codes. These branches corroborate the relations of their society with the past. There are work branches which can be included in the definition of traditional works nearly in every part of Turkey. In Gaziantep some of these works still live with their masters. While we were doing our research on traditional works in Gaziantep, additional to the works of determining and compilation of traditonal works and their products, we formed our study considering the necessity of the idea that traditional works should be remained by making them alive not by preserving them. Furthermore, we considered modern studies, called the third dimension in folk studies, stressing presentation and representing of the product.Key Words: Gaziantep, traditional work, modernisation of tradition
