Abstract (EN)

The main subject of Occupational Health and Safety is the provision and coordination of all necessary activities in order to protect the physical, mental and social integrity of the employees and not to encounter work accidents and occupational diseases. In this context, scientific studies and legal regulations made from the past to the present have shown important developments and advances in international and national dimensions. Occupational accidents and occupational diseases are seen in all business lines in our country, and work accidents and occupational diseases occurring in the food industry are in the top 10 among all business lines. In this study, the data on occupational accidents and occupational diseases obtained from the statistical annuals of the Social Security Institution (SSI) between 2010 and 2019 were examined statistically. As a result of the analysis, work accidents in the food sector in Turkey have not decreased despite the legal regulations made in previous years and today, on the contrary, there has been an increase in death as a result of work accidents and work accident. This is not the case in occupational diseases. There are fluctuations in occupational diseases changings.
