Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted in a randomized controlled experimental type to determine the effect of individualized mobile education given to pregnant women on fear of birth and birth experience. The research was conducted with pregnant women living in Gaziantep between 01 March 2022 - 31 March 2023. Research universe T.C. The pregnant women who applied to the Ministry of Health Gaziantep Cengiz Gökçek Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital Gynecology and Obstetrics Outpatient Clinic, and the sample consisted of 67 primiparous pregnant women who met the inclusion criteria of the study. Ethics committee approval, permission from the hospital, and informed consent were obtained from the participants. Data were collected with Pregnant Information Form, Wijma Birth Expectation/Experience Scale (W-DEQ) Version A and B, Birth Experience Scale (CEQ) and Postpartum Period Information Form. Analyzes were performed with IBM SPSS V25 Software and R Studio. The critical significance value was taken as p<0.05. In the research, there was no statistically significant difference between the groups in terms of identifying the pregnant women (p>0.05). The post-test mean score of the W-DEQ A version of the participants in the intervention group after the training (43.09±19.68) was found to be statistically significantly lower than the post-test mean score of the participants in the control group (72.88±17.48). The mean W-DEQ version B score of the participants in the intervention group (82.50±24.08) was statistically significantly lower than the control group (104.76±23.36) (p=0.000). While the average CEQ score of the participants in the intervention group was 64.32±10.42; The mean score of the participants in the control group was calculated as 58.12±16.06 (t=1.869; p=0.067). The results of the research show that the training given to primiparous pregnant women in line with the "Guidelines for Coping with Fear of Birth" increases the birth experience while reducing the fear of childbirth.
