Abstract (EN)
This trial consist of two stages. In first step the feed additive used in the last three weeks of the dry period in the feeding of dairy cows; the effects on colostrum quality, calf blood parameters and calf performance parameters were investigated. Second stage of the trial, the effect of feed additive, which was given to the cows for 21 days after calving, on milk yield, milk BHBA (Beta Hydroxy Butyric Acid) level and health parameters was investigated. Additive used in the study during the transition contains selenium, niacin, biotin, choline chloride, betain hydrochloride and Proviox Nuclues (Vitamine E replacer) Trial was carried out ''Bilimsel Dairy and Beef Cattle Farm'' is located in the Konya Ereğli. In trial total 85 heads of holstein dairy cow and 82 heads of holstein calves was used. Postpartum period, measurement parameters; colostrum quality and the effects of calves consuming this colostrum on serum total protein, immunoglobulin G levels and health and other performance parameters of calves during birth and growing period was monitored. In addition, calf vitality scores was recorded. In dry period of cows, feed consumption was monitored on a group basis. After calving, milk yield levels was recorded at the certain stage of lactation period. Milk samples was collected and tested for BHBA levels, reproduction and health parameters are recorded for evaluation. As a result of the study, it was determined that while liver supporting feed additive used, improved the reproductive health and milk yield performance of cows on the other hand it did not affect the colostrum quality, blood parameters, calf birth weight and calf growing parameters (P>0,05). Key Words: Transition period, Colostrum, Calf growing, Liver support, Milk yield
