From past to today the Turkish woman and it?s reflextion on the 4th and 5th classes social studies textbooks

The aim of this study is to investigate Turkish women? development from past to today and to determine the reflection of this development on social studies lesson books 4th and 5th classes. In this study topics which women are mentioned as name, picture or about information how they taking there, are tried to be emphasized by examining Ministry of Education and private publishing-houses lesson books.The sample of this study is primary school first step 4th and 5th classes Social Studies lesson books, for the data collection composed of Ministry of Education, Başarı and Sürat private publishing-houses. In this study firstly had been done a particular literature scan. Datas are collected for the research., Social Studies lesson books which are approved by The Board of Education, Periodical publications and Educational Studies works were examined.Ministry of Education and private publishing-houses? taking rate to Turkish woman role as social, political and economical were determined, as contents and formally were evaluated.As a result of this study:1) Turkish woman?s role which is about political, social and economical had change according to in the Ministry of Education and private publishing houses? 4th and 5th Social Studies lesson books.2) Turkish woman are not mentioned equally in the educational units.3) The materials which are used for Turkish woman such as document, recollection, poster, advertising, biography, reading text are not enough in 4th and 5th classes Social Studies lesson books.According to results which occured at the and of the study suggestions have been developed by investigator.
