Özet (EN)

In the 21st century, in which consumption-oriented lifestyles dominate, libertarian attitudes and individualization discourses become prevalent, borders on the world are being vanished with the effect of social media. As in Mcluhan's discourse "the world is a global village", the boundaries that have been eliminated by the influence of TV and social media have started to be replaced with western culture and lifestyles. New ways of life, which are mostly desired by the younger masses, create an image of existence as they consume with the motto "consume and consume" as an instrument of the capitalist system. This process emerging rapidly in the world, also shows its effect in conservative and traditional Türkiye, as well. Especially as we go towards the east of Türkiye, this break is seen more clearly in regions where the impact of conservatism and tradition is felt more strongly. It is an undeniable fact that universities, television programs, digital media and social media channels have an impact on this change. It is observed that this leads to serious problems and generational conflict between the young masses and their families (caused by the social environment they live in). In the light of these problems, it has been tried to address the problems experienced by the young children of the families emerged as a rejection of the new due to the nature of the traditional structure, pressure caused by both faith and cultural mainstays, and the perception of "what they say". In this study, the main causes of the existing problems will be discussed, the results and solutions will be focused on. As a result of the observations, the conflicts arising from the incompatibility of the wishes of the families and the expectations of the young people create serious psychological and social effects on the youth. Young people are seen by their families as rebellious individuals who do not care about their traditions and do not fulfill their religious obligations… Families with traditional lifestyles do not lean towards modern culture and they also criticize young people in this regard. Young people, on the other hand, complain that their families do not have a more understanding family structure built by modern culture. As a result, it has been concluded that a significant part of the young people are stuck between modernity and tradition, and there is a generational conflict between themselves and their families in many issues. One of the most important points identified in this study is that young people's lifestyles are influenced by the contents of today's digital media tools.
