Abstract (EN)

Wedding gown is a product with a high added value and its production process is very open to improvements. Biggest challenge of wedding gown producers is to produce a product that fits perfectly on each individual body which causes endless product variety and prevents producers from standardization. On the customer's side, customization is desirable and worth to pay therefore they are willing to pay the expenses of labor and time that it takes. A research among wedding gown customers who prefer to shop in the internet preferred to interfere in the design process of the wedding gown and pay more in order to get customized product which fits their taste. This makes it much harder to improve efficiency of wedding gown production keeping it still ultimately customized. Developing modular products to reduce production process times enables companies to work more efficiently keeping customer's variation needs satisfied. Modularity allows the companies optimize their production lines without reducing product variety, and get a level of component standardization that makes it possible to make use of mass production technologies and economies of scale. Modular product development, provides efficiency in material utilization, consumption and labor organization. Producing products with a flowing production starting from design stage to delivery it is necessary to design "producible" products.
