Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to research of whether immature defense mechanisms significantly predict narcissistic characteristics and the level of emotion regulation difficulties in young adult individuals. For this purpose, 384 people between the ages of 20 and 30 voluntarily participated in the study. The data of the research were collected with the "Sociodemographic Information Form", "Defensive Forms Test (SBT), "Five Factor Narcissism Scale-Short Form" and "Emotion Regulation Difficulty Scale". Results: It has been found that there is a positively significant relationship between immature defense mechanisms, narcissistic personality traits and emotion regulation difficulties Decisively. At the same time, it has been found that immature defense mechanisms are significant predictors for narcissistic personality traits and emotion regulation difficulties. From the point of view of sociodemographic variables, different findings were obtained for each main variable. Keywords: Defense Mechanisms, Narcissism, Difficulty in Emotion Regulation
