Investigation of the relationship between attention features and agility speed technical index scores of young football players

İt was aimed to investigate the relationship between footballers' attention skills and speed, agility and technical tactical skills. In this study, subjects were licensed football players aged between 14-20 years at the Adanaspor infrastructure football teams operating amidst the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 Football season. Determined as, age (16.07±1.52), length (172.08±8.71), weight (59.49±9.56), sports age (6.17±1.83) average values of the participants. Athletes participating in the study were given the D2 attention test, the HUFA test for quick-top quickness skills, a 30m speed run for speed skills, and the Illinois Agility test to determine their agility. Besides, a short information form was used to determine the demographic characteristics of the participants. SPSS 16.0 package program haas been used for the statistical analysis of the data. Following the completion of the descriptive statistics, ANOVA test was used for comparisons with more than two groups, since the data were understood to be normally distributed according to the results of the Shapiro-Wilk test. To determine which group the difference originated from, it was preferred to use Bonferroni test because the variances are homogeneous and the number of data in the groups is low. Pearson Correlation analysis method was used to determine the relationships between the variables. Significance level was accepted as p <0.05. When the relationship between the attention characteristics and the motoric characteristics of the footballers was analysed, a significant negative correlation was found between TN and HÜFA1, HÜFA2 and 30 m speed test results. There is a significant low-level negative relationship between TNE and HÜFA1, HÜFA2, Illinois and 30 m speed test results. There was a significant low-level negative relationship between CP and HÜFA2 test only (P <0.05). Consequently; we can emphasize that the attention-enhancing activities that can be done in training can cause the athletes to improve their speed, agility, HÜFA1 and HÜFA2 scores.
