Examination of the relationship between mindfulness skills and automatic thoughts and depression in young adults

It is said that the basic line of being with conscious awareness is to observe the moment with unconditional acceptance, a kind attitude and curiosity, regardless of whether the experience is good or bad. There are some important different features in the concept of conscious awareness. In the context of this concept, for example; A clear awareness of individuals' inner and outer worlds such as their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and the environment they are in is underlined. (Brown et al. 2007b) Depression is shown as a fairly common psychiatric disorder. While untreated, it creates negative results such as suicide and ill-health. The population of the research consists of young adult individuals, the data was collected by distributing it on the internet social platforms with an online questionnaire. When the distribution of young adults according to their demographic characteristics is examined; 194 of the participants were female and 38 were male. Relational screening model, one of the screening models, was used to examine the relationship between the mindfulness skills of young adults and depression and automatic thoughts. When the assumptions of the regression analysis were examined, the research findings revealed that the relationship between automatic thoughts and mindfulness was significant. When the assumptions of mindfulness and beck depression analysis were examined, it was determined that the relationship between the predictor variable was significant.
