Investi̇gati̇on of communi̇cati̇on ski̇lls of personnel worki̇ng i̇n provi̇nci̇al di̇rectorate of youth and sports i̇n terms of di̇fferent vari̇ables (Example of Gazi̇antep provi̇nce)

Communication skills play a very important role in people's ability to communicate in a healthy way. Communication is an indispensable and inevitable element in people's lives. Because human is a social being and in order to meet his needs, he is in constant communication. Therefore, the personnel working in the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports must have effective communication skills in order to be able to fully deal with, direct and influence people. This research is a descriptive study conducted with the aim of "examining the communication skills of the personnel working in the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports in terms of different variables". The population of the research consists of the personnel working in Gaziantep Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports in 2019-2020, and the sample group consists of 323 (79 Female, 244 Male) individuals selected on a voluntary basis. "Communication Skills Inventory (CCI)" developed by Korkut Owen and Bugay (2014) was used as a data collection tool in the research. SPSS 22.0 program was used in the analysis of the data. T test and analysis of variance were used as statistical methods. Normality tests were applied to determine whether the research data showed normal distribution and Kurtosis-Skewness values were checked for data sets that did not show normal distribution and it was determined that the data did not show normal distribution. Numerical data were interpreted in tables by using Man Whitney U and Kruslkal Wallis analyzes to determine the difference between independent variables from nonparametric tests. The significance level was taken as p<0.05. As a result of the research, it was seen that the personnel of the provincial directorate of youth and sports scored above the average in the sub-dimensions of the communication skills scale, so it can be said that they have positive communication skills. While there was no difference between the groups in terms of gender, marital status, professional seniority and income levels, in terms of age variable, younger age groups (20-30) had more positive communication skills, and those with high school, undergraduate and graduate education were more likely to have higher education levels than those with secondary school education. were found to have high scores.
