The comparison the characteristics of being effective school of high schools and anatolian high schools (Ankara case)

The purpose of this study is to find out if there is a significant difference between the characteristics of being effective school with in all effective school?s characteristics (school administrator, teacher, student, school environment-parent and school culture-atmosphere) of high schools and Anatolian high schools according to the opinions of teachers who work in both type of school in Ankara central district (Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Keçiören, Mamak, Sincan, Yenimahalle).In research, to determine the existing circumstances scanner model has been used. The questionarrie has been re-prepared by the researcher useing the Balcı(1993)?s ?Effective School Scale?. Validity and reliability studies have been done in practice with in 116 teachers. Questionarrie has been applied to 456 teachers in 26 high schools and 15 Anatolian high schools.In the statistical analysis of data?s t-test and one way variance analysis (ANOVA) tests have been used. Significance value ?=.05 is accepted for the interpretation of the significant difference.According to the research findings, it is determined that the characteristics of being effective school with in all effective school?s characteristics (school administrator, teacher, student, school environment-parent and school culture-atmosphere) in Anatolian high schools is significantly different than high schools.
