The effect of organizational culture on job satisfaction at high schools (sample of Malatya city)

The purpose of this research is to determine both how organization culture is understood by classroom teachers and headmasters and the job satisfaction levels of classroom teachers and headmasters who work at high schools in the provincial centre of Malatya. Another aim of this research is to determine strong and weak sides of cultures at schools and how does this organizational culture affect the job satisfaction.The universe of the research consists of 1784 classroom teachers and headmasters who work at 65 high schools within central province of Malatya. They who work within central provincial 326 classroom teachers and headmasters have been taken into the pattern of the research.In the research, to get data a ?culture inventory? which consists of 23 items and four sub dimensions and a ?Minnesota job satisfaction inventory? are used. The questionnaire is made up of three sections. In the first section personal information, in the second section school culture and in the third section Minnesota job satisfaction take place.SPSS (Statistical Package For Social Science. 13) packet programme has been used in order to analyze the statistical data determined at the research. Frequency, percent, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, levene?s, ?t?, mann-whitney U, kruskal-wallis H, Pearson correlate and regression tests have been used for the evaluation of the data. The upper limit of erroneous ratio has been accepted as 0.05.According to the results of research, classroom teachers and headmasters who work into high schools think that they have both a good school culture at their schools and enough job satisfaction about their jobs. There is a positive relation between job satisfaction and school culture. It is also founded that the affect of the organizational culture on job satisfaction is about 31 percent.
