Abstract (EN)

In this study, finding the best in hip implant design and the investigation of mechanical properties of hip prostheses, firstly a literature review was first conducted. Studies on hip prosthesis, design optimization studies, biomaterials used in hip prosthesis, hip biomechanics and hip anatomy were examined. Two different design geometries wide spread use were selected and modeled using SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD program. The most suitable material for the modeled hip prosthesis was determined as Ti-6Al-4V alloy. This material was used as the hip implant material. Depending on the patient's weight and hip biyomechanics, the force applied to the hip joint was determined. A analysis of hip implants was performed using the ANSYS program. It has been observed that improvements made in the design of the K1 implant, such as the presence of channel structures, increased thickness of the implant stem and rib structure in the femoral neck, provide a significant increase in the mechanical strength and load-carrying capacity of the implant. According to these results, it was concluded that the mechanical properties of the K1 model were more successful than the K2 model.
