Abstract (EN)
Observing and analysing seismic data takes a great place in seismic engineering. The data obtained from seismic waves make it easier to understand the earthquakes. The The wavelet transform is one of the important methods that are used to minimize noises and to analyze signals. Wavelet transform is performed by a wavelet and a scalling function helping it. Which wavlet function and which scalling function? It is important to get the most useful transform. It is presented that Daubechies wavelet is the easiest method to obtain the time difference between P and S phases. This work shows that the Daubechies Discrete Wavelet Transform gives very successful results at determining the P and S seismic phases without deforming the main characteristics of the required signal, thus making the data more comprehensible. In the study, the real time three component seismic records of the Tabanli Earthquake in 2011 are used for analaysing and denoising.
