Determination of some bread wheat (triticum aestivum l.) and durum wheat (triticum durum l.) cultivars for grain yield and components and quality characters at gercüş ( Batman) conditions

This research was conducted to determine grain yield, yield component and some quality traits of bread and durum wheat cultivars in 2014-2015 growing season at Batman-Gercüş conditions. This research was carried out on 10 bread wheat (Adana-99, Cemre, Ceyhan-99, Karacadağ-98, Krasunia, Nurkent, Pandas, Pehlivan, Sagittario and Syrena) and 6 durum wheat cultivars (Artuklu, Ceylan-95, Diyarbakır-81, Fırat-93, Güney Yıldızı and Zühre) in a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. This research from obtained plant height, spike length, number of spikelet per spike, number of spike per square meter, heading to maturity date, grain yield, grain weight, total yield, harvest index, hectoliter weight and protein content were evaluated. According to the results, bread wheat Nurkent and durum wheat Zühre had the highest grain yield and Sagittario, and Zühre had the highest protein. As a result of this research; Nurkent from the highest yielding bread wheat, Zühre from durum wheat and the highest protein ratio from Sagittario and Zühre varieties This research results showed that Nurkent and Zühre had the highest grain yield are hopeful for Batman conditions.
