Abstract (EN)
In this study it is to examine the expression levels of Homeobox A10(HOXA10) and Homeobox A11(HOXA11) two new proteins detected in the placentas of our pregnant patients with gestational diabetes compare them in the histopathology of the disease and observe the relationship of their expression intensity with the disease. In this experimental non-randomized case-control study, samples were taken from the placentas of 20 healthy and 20 pregnant women with GDM. Routine tissue monitoring was performed on the obtained tissues. Placental samples were stained with hematoxylin-eosin and histopathologically examined under a light microscope. Immunohistochemically, HOXA10 and HOXA11' antibodies were studied. Compared histopathologically between the GDM group and the control group it was observed that placental villi were unevenly distributed and in places where trophoblastic cells were found an increase in cellular density and the presence of vascular dilatation and congestion as well as an increase in syncytial nodes were more pronounced than in the control group. It was observed that the expression of plesantal HOXA10 in the GDM group was generally negative compared to the control group. It was observed that the expression level of plesantal HOXA11 decreased in the GDM group compared to the control group. It has been determined that GDM causes significant structural and molecular changes on placental structures. It shows that GDM can seriously impair placental functions and negatively affect perinatal outcomes. We think that changes in the expression levels of HOXA10 and HOXA11 may enable a better understanding of the pathogenesis of GDM and their use as biomarkers for early diagnosis.
