Abstract (EN)

The cultivation of cotton and silk, which are the raw materials of kutnu, in more than one place on the earth, enabled the fabric to spread. Kutnu, consisting of cotton and silk, is a special type of fabric with its valuable raw material and extraordinary weaving method. Kutnu fabric has had a wide range of consumers from the use of the public to the use of the palaces. In the face of changing conditions and technological developments over time, there has been a decrease in the number and production of masters. Today, it is still produced with traditional methods and struggles to preserve its essence. In order to increase the awareness of kutnu fabric, which is a cultural heritage; One of the research methods, the art method was used for research. As a means of expression, a wearable work of art was produced from kutnu fabric. Wearable art has updated the kutnu fabric and turned it into a new creative tool. It has given Kutnu an innovative and strong identity. The transformation of kutnu fabric into a work of art with the wearable art movement enables us to see kutnu as an art tool in itself. In this way, it has become a type of fabric with a high awareness.
