Relationship with migration and sivil society: Activities of NGO's organisation in Hatay for Syrian migrants

Turkey is a country that has faced intense waves of immigration after the 2011 syrian war and has hosted hundreds of thousands of people in a short time. Since the arrival of the immigrants in the country, studies have been initiated by both the state and non-governmental organizations in areas such as health, food, education, accommodation and rehabilitation. Starting in march 2011 and turning into a civil war in a short time, the internal turmoil in syria turned into a brutal chaos after a while and became the strategic focal point of the states in the international sense. "migration" has become inevitable for the civilian population who are struggling for life and death in this turmoil. The picture that emerged after the syrian civil war is an extremely desperate picture from a humanitarian point of view. It is a well-known fact that hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives since the beginning of the war, and that millions of people have left their regions and were subjected to forced migration. The place where these migrations are most intense is turkey. Especially the provinces of hatay, kilis, şanlıurfa and gaziantep, which have borders with syria, have faced an intense wave of migration. In the face of intense waves of migration and tragic cases, many global organizations, especially the united nations, have started activities especially on humanitarian aid. In turkey, many non-governmental organizations within the country and abroad have also involved in humanitarian aid. In the report published on the 20th of august in 2020 by the general directorate of migration management, the provinces with the highest density of immigrants who have immigrated to turkey from syria and who have been granted temporary asylum status are given are listed. According to these data, hatay is the 3rd province with the highest number of syrians under temporary protection. Although it is the third in terms of number, it is seen that the most intensive migration compared to the population is made to hatay. Therefore, the research will focus on ngos operating in the province of hatay and operating for immigrants. After examining the general structures and fields of activity of the ngos operating for syrian refugees in hatay, the activities of 4 NGOs that stand out in terms of their fields of activity, effectiveness levels, financial power and human resources will be examined in detail. This study; were made in the form of examples from different ngos in terms of their shape, structure and scope. Researched NGOs are: Türk Kızılayı Hatay Şubesi, Türkiye Diyanet Vakfı Hatay Şubesi, İnsani Yardım Vakfı (İhh) Hatay Şubesi, Hatay Yardımlaşma Derneği (HAYAD)
