Investigation of the factors that determine the health conditions of immigrant population using logistic regressin: The case of Adana

The study investigated the factors that determine the health status of the immigrant population in Adana region and the effects of socioeconomic and behavioral factors on the reported health status. The sample consists of 410 individuals who are members of the vulnerable group residing in Adana. The sample of the study was chosen by random sampling. The dependent variable of the study is the health status of the immigrants, which has a bernoulli distribution and takes the value of 0 and 1. Since health, which is the dependent variable, is a categorical variable, the effect of independent variables on this variable was examined by logistic regression analysis.As the age of individuals increases every 1 year, the probability of being healthy decreases by an average of 0.948 times compared to the probability of not being healthy. When illiterate individuals with primary school education reach primary school, the probability of being healthy increases by an average of 2,532 times, When individuals reach their education level at university, the probability of being healthy increases by an average of 5,842 times compared to the probability of not being healthy.The probability of being healthy for working individuals was found to be 2,236 times the probability of being unhealthy on average.
