Özet (EN)
The Orkhon Inscriptions, which hold a vital place in Turkish history, is a significant work that contains many elements of Turkish culture and provides us with information about the Turks' worldview. It is essential for us to search for traces of Turkish culture in the origin of the alphabet used in these inscriptions, which have such great value and significance. Considering the nature of the Gokturk alphabet, which has been debated by many scientists regarding its origins, it is possible to find traces of Turkish culture entirely. The primary elements of the establishment of this entirety are rock paintings which evolved into tamgas leading to the Gokturk alphabet, which can be regarded as the end product. Considering the continuity of connection among these three cultural elements (rock paintings, tamgas, and the Gokturk alphabet), it can be said that it is neither certainly intersecting nor a coincidental relationship. Instead, they form a natural unity, similar to the entire section of a tree from its roots to its trunk. Therefore, the primary purpose of this paper is to illustrate this unity. We believe that our study which has been concluded through the results of our elaborative research will elucidate certain questions that have been slightly unanswered and encourage further discussions.
