The petrography and the geochemistry of the tectonomagmatic units that outcrops between the Güneydoğru and Beğre (Doğanşehir-Malatya)

In this study, the different lithologies outcropping inthe study area mapped, the Doğanşehir granitoyid and Berit metaophioliteinvestigated in detail and evaluated in the regional geology. In the study area thePaleozoic-Mesozoic Pütürge and Malatya metamorphics, Upper Cretaceous Beritmetaophiolite and Doğanşehir granitoyid, Middle Eocene volcano-sedimenter Madencomplex and Tertiary-Quaternary sedimenter units mapped.The Berit metaophiolite,in spite of showing a regular ophiolite sequence in the type-section, in the study areaconsist of ultramafic rocks and series of schists. These schist series indicate that theBerit metaophiolite shows a reverse metamorhism from granulite facies to epidotefacies. The Doğanşehir granitoyid consists of amphibole bearing gabbro, diorite,quartz-diorite, tonalite, granodiorite, mafic dikes and felsic dikes. The granitoyidincludes in various size and forms of mafic magmatik enclaves (MME).TheDoğanşehir granitoyid shows an I-type calc-alkaline magma feature. The field andthe geochemical datas derived from the Doğanşehir granitoyid indicate that theDoğanşehir granitoyid is a volcanic arc granitoyid which formed in an activecontinental margin.Keywords: Doğanşehir Granitoid, Berit Metaophiolite, Volcanic Arc Granitoid, EastAnatolia, Reverse metamorhism.II
