Comparative phonology of Southeastern Anatolian dialects

In this thesis, the comparative phonological properties of Southeastern Anatolian Dialects have been examined. The introduction part is divided into the following sub-sections: General Information on the Phonetics of Standard Turkish, Studies Conducted on the Phonetics of Standard Turkish, General Information on Dialects and Dialect Studies, Studies on Turkish Dialects Spoken in Turkey, Classification of Turkish Dialects Spoken in Turkey, The Importance of Comparative Dialect Studies, Studies on the Dialects of Southeastern Anatolia, and Information on the Current Thesis. The examination part of the study consists of three parts: Vowels, Consonants and Sound Events. In the Vowels section, the common and different aspects of vowels in Southeastern Anatolian dialects are given comparatively. Consonants in the dialects discussed in the consonants section are given by explaining their characteristics and comparing their common and different aspects. In the Sound Events section, common and different aspects are tried to be revealed by examining and comparing the dialects in detail in terms of sound events. This study differs from other dialect studies in that it seeks to use a comparative approach to identify the phonetic similarities and differences of various dialects spoken in the same geographical region.
