Abstract (EN)
This thesis aims to reveal how human beings' discoveries in understanding themselves and their environment have shaped their artistic endeavors. The uncertainty of life and the search for the answer to existence have driven human beings towards intellectual complexity. Since the discoveries made on the inner journey in this context encourage people to produce, the final outputs are important for artistic existence. Unlike other people, the artist's recognition, synthesis and reflection of the universe in his/her inner world is the most basic structure of his/her production. In the expression of the thesis subject, after defining the universe, i.e. the formation of the cosmos, and the concept of chaos, which is its complement, both are evaluated together and the contrasts formed by these concepts and the ties established between artistic contrasts ensure the integrity of the work. The paintings, which carry existential concerns, are handled with an ontic integrity from the perspective of art ontology, which is theoretically an art theory but also used as a method for understanding and analyzing works of art. The adventure of existence, which started from the first formal expression of man, has progressed towards abstract art in which the artist expresses his own intellectual results in his paintings. Existence has always been the subject of the human mind and art with all its unknown. Examples of this search, which continues in today's art, are given through the paintings of selected artists. The intellectual results of the research combined with the search in the inner journey are expected to be a source for painting studies.
