The liverwort flora (Marchantiophyta) of Gürgenli mountain (Bayramören/Çankırı)

This study is aimed to investigate the liverwort flora of Gürgenli mountain located 19 different areas of the Bayramören district in Çankırı between March-September 2014. After identifications of 38 liverworts specimen, 13 liverwort taxa were found which were belonging to 9 families and 10 genera of Marchantiophyta division. Scapaniaceae with three species and 2 species belong to Frullaniaceae and Porellaceae were the richest families in respect to number of species. The reserach area is located in A2 square according to Henderson grid system (1961). This is the first study which provides the liverwort species as a floristic list for Bayramören district of Çankırı province. The identified number of liverwort taxa is about 180 in Turkey until now. With this study, 13 liverwort taxa were reported from only the 10 % part of the district of Çankırı province. The ratio of the total identified taxa to this finding was 7.2 % in our country. Increasing number of detailed researchs like this study is important to understand better the floristic richness of liverwort in our country and will contribute the researchers.
