Abstract (EN)

In this research, pure sound audiometry test, which is one of the subjective audiological evaluation methods, was applied to drivers who actively use vehicles during the day. With this test, it is aimed to determine the presence of hearing loss, if there is hearing loss, to what extent it affects which frequency. In this context, the risk of noise-induced hearing loss the factor was accepted, drivers who were exposed to 80 dB of sound for 8 hours were given a hearing test. It depends on age not at risk of hearing loss (<50 years of age), using different types of tools, chronic illness or people who do not have a medication that they use regularly took part in our study group. In our study, 20 people aged between 18 and 48 truck driver, 20 bus drivers, 20 minibuses driver, 20 taxi drivers, 20 of whom travel in their own vehicle 100 people have been reached. 36% of the participants in the 18-35 age group, 64% are in the 36-48 age group. Year of noise exposure in the sample 65% of the time it is 10 years or less, and 35% of the time for more than 10 years. Age, noise exposure and hearing thresholds were statistically compared with the obtained data. The effect of transport noise on hearing loss in the study we investigated; 125, 250, 500, 1000, 2000,4000, 6000 and 8000 Hertz air conduction, 500, 1000, 2000 and 4000 Hertz bone conduction path measurement was performed. As a result of the evaluation made in the 36-48 age group, to the 18-35 age group there is more hearing loss than. Understood again, the statistical evaluation showed a significant difference in hearing loss in drivers exposed to noise for more than 10 years. Hearing loss is primarily affected by high pitched voice starting at frequencies in the following period in addition to exposure, it has been identified that it s also affects the frequencies of the low pitched voices. If exposure persists, advancing age and with the influence of factors such as metabolic diseases iv It is believed that hearing loss will affect a person's social life. As a result of the data obtained, it has been identified that the drivers who exposed transport noise may have hearing loss. It must be reduced noise from the source before it reaches the receiver for the people who expoesed to noise. It is believed that education should be provided for using of personal protective headphones.
