Investigation of the attitudes of fine arts high schools department of music guitar students too guitar lesson

Attitude is an important factor for predicting the next steps in the education process by examining students' attitudes, determining attitudes towards the conditions they are in, changing negative attitudes if any, developing new and different attitudes, and recognizing student preferences. The aim of this study was to determine the attitude levels of classical guitar students studying in fine arts high schools towards the guitar lesson and to make evaluations about what factors might be effective in the formation of these attitude levels. In this context, students' attitudes towards individual instrument training course were examined according to various demographic characteristics and gender, class level, family education level, and finally their housing status. The research was carried out with a survey design, which is one of the quantitative research methods, and the study group consisted of 285 students studying in the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades of the 2021-2022 academic year of 57 fine arts high schools with guitar teachers. "Attitude Scale Towards Individual Instrument Education Course" was used in the research. As a result of the research, it was determined that the attitudes of fine arts high school music department students towards individual instrument training course were positive. It has been observed that students' attitudes towards this course differ according to the sub-dimensions of the variables. As a result of the study, it was seen that there was a significant difference between the students' attitude scores and the grade level variable. There was no significant difference in other variables. In addition, suggestions for both research and future research are presented.
