In the context of Turkish and Pakistani television networks, this comparative study examines the representation and involvement of women media professionals in the news-production process. The study aims to comprehend the parallels and contrasts in the roles, difficulties, and possibilities experienced by women engaged in news production in these two countries. A qualitative approach is used in this study, combining in-depth interviews with female media workers and analysis of news dynamics of Turkish and Pakistani news television networks. The study sheds light on women's professional paths, workplace dynamics, and the factors affecting their representation in news production by examining the experiences and viewpoints of female journalists, producers, editors, and news anchors. The impact of cultural, social, and institutional factors on women's participation and visibility in news production, as well as the function of gender stereotypes and biases, are some of the major topics covered in this study. The study also looks at how the presence of women affects news narratives, agenda-setting, viewer views, and the coverage of sensitive news. The study seeks to provide information to media companies, decision-makers, and advocacy organizations about the necessity of gender-sensitive practices and policies that advance diversity, equality, and inclusivity in the news business.
