The problem of definition of sahih hadis in the method of hadis

Hadith is the second main source of Islam. Because of that it is important to prove the Hadiths were said by the Prophet Muhammed. To determine the originality of Hadiths is a subject that Hadiths scholars and Islamic scholars are interested of it. Their aim was to separate the original from non-original. Because there has been not a union among the Hadith scholars, there are not full agreement between them on the Hadiths. In this study, it was firstly aimed to determine the problems arising from the different criteria on the originality of the hadiths. Secondly, following the determination of the problems, the importance of a new approach to the hadith tradition was emphasized. This study is consisted of three parts. In the introduction, the purpose, importance and the methods of the study was explained. The era of Prophet Muhammed, Sahabe, Tabiun and Tebe-i Tabiin periods were studied with the criteria of the forming the first Hadith sources. In the second chapter, problems were found due to different evaluation criteria. In the third chapter, a new method to find out the originality of hadiths were given.
