The comparison of Sharḥ Meānī al-āsār and Sharḥ Mukhtasari al-Taḥāwī in terms of Tahāwī's influence on Jessās' approach to hadiths

In this study, the influence of al-Tahāwī on al-Jessās's approach to hadīths was tried to be determined in the works titled Sharh Meānī al-āsār and Sharh Mukhtasari al-Tahāwī. The study consists of two parts apart from the introduction. In the first chapter, the lives of the authors, their understanding of hadith and sunnah, and the works that are the subject of the research are described in general terms in order to provide a basis for the study. In the second part, al-Tahāwī's influence on al-Jaṣṣās in terms of his approach to hadiths is analyzed under three headings: scenic, textual and content in the context of the works selected as a sample. Under the title of Senad, the authors' evaluations of the isnad, the narration words they used, and the cerh-taʽdil status of the narrators were analyzed, and the overlapping aspects were identified. In the first part of the text heading, it was determined that the narrations that al-Jassas stated that he had quoted from al-Tahāwī were found in al-Tahāwī's Sharh al-Meānī al-āsār, and it was analyzed whether there were any differences between the aforementioned narrations in terms of sened and text. In the second part, the opinion that al-Jessās quoted some of the muallak hadiths that he used as evidence in his commentary from al-Tahāwī's Sharh al-Meānī al-āsār and the factors that led to this opinion were emphasized. After discussing and grounding the issue in detail, the narrations that are presumed to have been transmitted by al-Jaṣṣās from al-Taḥāwī are cited and compared. In the third part, the similarity of the narrations in Sharh Meānī al-āsār to the narrations in Sharh al-Meānī al-āsār is analyzed in terms of both the script and the text. In terms of content, the comments of both scholars on the same hadith were analyzed and the existence of interaction was tried to be determined. Based on the similarities identified in this context, it was concluded that al-Jassas was significantly influenced by al-Tahāwi in his approach to hadiths.
