Systematics and bioecology of scorpiones in Hakkari province (Arachnida: Scorpiones)

In this study, scorpion species spread in Hakkari, and their zoogeographic distribution was determined. For this purpose, 265 specimens from 25 localities were collected from the region in the field studies carried out on the borders of Hakkari province between April 2018 and June 2022. At the end of the studies, 5 taxa belonging to a total of 5 genera were identified, 4 from Buthidae family (Compsobuthus matthiesseni, Hottentotta saulcyi, Mesobuthus yagmuri and Orthochirus fomichevi) and 1 from Iuridae family (Calchas anlasi). General information about the geographical location of the research area, natural vegetation, and landforms are explained and the materials used in sample collection and examinations are indicated. In this study, each taxon recorded from the study area was defined separately, the diagnostic key of the species was prepared, the photographs of the species were shown and the original taxonomic recommendation of each species, synonyms, habitat, ecology, distribution in Turkey and in the world and the location information of the examined materials on the map were given. Of these species, Orthochirus fomichevi was first identified from derecik district in the research region.
