The tradition of telling Elifname in folk poetry and instructional elements of Elifname

The folk literature is the most important building blocks of the national culture. This literature is the interpreter of the people's world and their voicing the minstrels? emotions, thoughts. The outcome of the emotions and thoughts expressed in poetry is the most important indicator of the strength of minstrels.Turkish literature has a very long history. During this long period of time many poet demonstrated many written and oral poems. This is types of poetry is called Elif-name. Elif-name poems were written in Ottoman Turkish alphabet. Elif-name which is a kind of minstrels' thoughts and feelings expressed and may be religious, non-religious; mystical subjects were asked the public to be reached. This study try to present Elif-name and elif-name have been said to be the tradition, as the most versatile in the folk poetry. Education elements of Elif-name are sub-headings such as religious education, Sufism education and public moral education. These topics of elif-name are try to explain with examples.
