Abstract (EN)
This thesis titled "Research on Clay Bodies that can be used in Ceramic 3D Printers Working with the Fused Deposition Modelling Principle" is within the scope of 218M919 TÜBİTAK Project. In this study, 414 of 542 recipes, that are created using ternary and quadratic diagram methods, were applied for the purpose of creating suitable bodies for three dimensional clay printers. Some of these bodies, which are fired at 900°C, 950°C, 1000°C, and 1050°C, are suitable for standard shaping methods while the plasticity ratio of others are too low to be shaped by hand. During the application process, trial prints of the recipes were made, and based on the firing results and observations, suitable bodies were determined. With these selected ones, form trials in 3D printers were carried out. Data consisting of recipes, visuals, firing temperatures, observations and test results of these clays are shared within the scope of these thesis and project. Scientific and technological goal to be achieved in this thesis; to develop ceramic clay recipes by the use of local raw materials that can be fired at low degrees to be used in three-dimensional printers, also to reduce the costs of production by restrain utilisation of gypsum, polymer etc. that used in the shaping process in the ceramic industry, and offer improvement suggestions that can be made in the printer according to the physical structure of these clays. Socio-economically; providing the opportunity for medium and small scale enterprises or individual user to produce low-cost products and to develop their product range is aimed.
