Abstract (EN)

In this study, the poetic side of the most famous caliph Harunürreşid giving the Abbâsîd state a brilliant period in every field politically, economically, culturally, and the poets around him are examined. The study consists of introduction, two chapters and conclusion. In the introduction, information about the importance, purpose, limits, method and sources of the research is given. In the first chapter, the social, economic, scientific and literary situation of the period and the life of Harunürreşid, his family, education and caliphate are discussed. In the second chapter, Harunürreşid's poems are explained in terms of content, form and style. The poems are classified according to their subjects. The meter and literary arts he uses in his poems are shown with examples. Important poets living around Harunürreşid within the Abbâsîd borders, especially from the caliphate period until his death, have been mentioned. These poets are explained under three headings: famous poets, those who have notable poems although their main fame is in different fields, and female poets. As a result, the information and findings obtained were evaluated. In these evaluations, it was understood that Harunürreşid knew the science of aruz in Arabic literature to the extent that he could write poetry and was able to use the sciences of rhetoric in his poems. Especially when poetry is cared for not only by poets but by all segments of society, it has been seen that many superior virtues such as love, respect, elegance, excitement, harmony and empathy develop in that society, thus contributing to material and spiritual development.
