Abstract (EN)
This master's thesis study, which is about the ancient city of Hasankeyf in the southeast of Turkey, has been prepared in 5 main chapters. In the first section, the introduction, a plan was created by explaining the problem, purpose, importance, hypothesis, limits and method of the research. In the second chapter, summaries of sources suitable for the content of this thesis are included. In the third chapter, issues such as places in ancient, urban and rural settlements, settlement, individual and society relations, culture, belonging to the region and social transformations in historical settlements are explained. The cultural heritage texture of Hasankeyf has been tried to be examined through these topics. Then, examples of cities from around the world and from Turkey that were flooded due to dams are given, and Hasankeyf's geographical features, geological structure, climate, origin of its name, history, socio-cultural and economic structure are explained. The fourth chapter started with the urban architecture and spatial analysis of old and new Hasankeyf. Surveys of the houses in Hasankeyf's castle, Üçyol village and the newly established settlement were taken and catalogues containing plans, photographs and information about these houses were prepared. The spatial transformations of the settlement in the historical process were explained and it was tried to determine which effects of the cultural heritage texture of the old Hasankeyf were in the newly established settlement. In the results and suggestions section, the results of all sections were evaluated, the architectural texture of old and new Hasankeyf was compared and the hypotheses in the study were supported. The importance of the study is revealed and several suggestions are presented.
